FIFA extends Gambia Mandate
The Gambia Football Association under its Normalisation Committee is pleased to inform the general public that the World governing football body FIFA has extended the mandate of the Normalisation Committee until the end of June, 2013.
This news was contained in a letter sent by FIFA and addressed to the Normalisation Committee through its Chairman, Alhagie Ousman B Conateh. The development came after the FIFA Executive Committee was briefed on the discussions held during the FIFA Associations committee meeting in Zurich on 13th February, 2013 and the subsequent decision to ask the GFA to hold a new General Assembly with clubs which had played regular GFA competitions.
Under these prevailing circumstances, the FIFA Executive Committee decided to extend the deadline of the GFA Normalisation Committee until 30th June, 2013 in order to afford the Normalization Committee ample time to complete the roadmap leading to the election of new office bearers.
The GFA Normalisation Committee takes this precious opportunity to thank all stakeholders for their support and co operation during the period and envisages a brighter future for the coming period. It also, congratulates and extends its gratitude to the government of The Gambia through the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their encouragement and unflinching support during the process and by extension all relevant stakeholders for the development and progress of Gambian football.
