GFA Press Statement April 2013
The Normalisation Committee of The Gambia Football Association has issued a press release stating that it is currently working with Football World governing body, FIFA, to ensure a way forward for June's elective congress.
The Normalisation Committee of the Gambia Football Association (GFA) after its Adoptive Congress held on 13th April, 2013, is pleased to inform the general public through all media establishments that the body is currently working on a way forward towards the elective congress in June which principally includes the formation of Regional Football Associations and the process of application of all members to the football federation. These in due course will be related to all relevant stakeholders.
Furthermore, the Normalisation Committee wishes to inform all that it is also working with FIFA on the timelines for all these activities leading to the elective congress in June. Besides, the GFA is on the process of appointing an interim committee to assist in the establishment of Regional Football Associations as contained in the just adopted GFA constitution voted in by delegates.
Meanwhile, the Normalisation Committee is requesting clubs in the 1st and 2nd division to submit their constitutions to the GFA not later than 15th May, 2013 in preparation for the elective congress schedule for 29th June, 2013.
